Elly Schmidt-Hopper is a Bay Area based producer and director. Producing credits include YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT (OPS Productions), a top performing Netflix original series about health and the environment that reached over 20 million people worldwide. She currently working on the impact campaign of a the feature documentary, ACTS OF REPARATION, coordinating reparative genealogy events around the country. Camera department credits include Academy-Award nominated short LEAD ME HOME (Actual Films), REBUILDING PARADISE (Imagine Entertainment), I’LL BE GONE IN THE DARK (HBO) and STATE OF PRIDE (Telling Pictures). She’s a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley’s Graduate Journalism Program with a concentration in documentary filmmaking. A Fulbright Grant recipient, taught in Medellín, Colombia for a year. She is a UC Berkeley Merit Scholarship recipient.
Jenna A. Bush
Editor
Jenna A. Bush is an award winning documentary editor and Karen Schmeer Editing Fellow. As a member of the disability community, she is consistently striving for greater representation both on screen and in the edit room. Jenna was on the edit team for the TIFF-premiered PATRICE: THE MOVIE (Hulu/ABCNews Studios), which was nominated for an Indie Spirit Award for Best Documentary. The film which highlights disability rights and marriage inequality, screened at CIFF (Best Documentary Audience Award), BFI London, and in the DOCNYC Winner’s Circle. Additional credits include editing and writing the features FENCING FOR THE EDGE and MALLORY (Gravitas Ventures). Jenna's short documentary, HELLO TO JULIA, which she both directed and edited, screened at the Woodstock International Film Festival and received awards from various festivals including Best Editing. Her short MINOR DETAILS also received multiple accolades and aired on NJTV for many years.
Jean Zamora
Producer
Jean Zamora is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley's Graduate journalism program with a concentration in documentary filmmaking. She also has her BA in Fine art Photography from New York University, where she also studied narrative long form journalism and media, culture, and communications. She has had her short form documentaries published in STAT News and shown at the Durango Independent Film Festival, The Berkeley Art Museum and Pacific Film Archive's Student Committee Film Festival, The Queer Women of Color Film Festival, The Seattle Film Festival, and The Best Shorts Competition. Her short form documentaries have received awards from both the Durango Film Festival and The Best Shorts Competition. She is also an award recipient of the Jerry Jensen Memorial Graduate Journalism Scholarship from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
Joe Barnett
Director of Cinematrography
Joe Barnett is a Director of Cinematography based in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a background in the camera department on projects such as You Are What You Eat (Netflix) and NOVA. He is completing a film he directed and shot about Snowshoe Thompson, retracing the legendary mail carrier’s historic route through the Sierra.
